Pouring Salt is a group zine created to benefit survivors of abuse with all profits going to The Cocoon, a nonprofit committed "to [providing] safety, healing, and justice across the lifespan for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, their children, and all of those affected by abuse" in Northwest Ohio.
With contributions from cisgender, trans, and nonbinary visual artists and storytellers, Pouring Salt includes 14 individual narratives from people who've refused to stay quiet about their experiences with familial abuse, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. Pouring Salt is about the power of storytelling in recovery despite the threat of ruined reputations, lost friends, and estranged family.
